Elimination of excess designs and utmost optimized reduction of direct and indirect costs, along with consideration of safety issues, has always been one of the most essential aspects of pipeline design. Incorporation of Pipeline integrity management in design, will help to preserve national assets and reduce indirect costs. In this booklet, technical and organizational approaches related to the optimal design and integrity management of oil and gas pipelines has been briefly reviewed.
